In 2025, it feels like every conversation includes one of these buzzwords. And for good reason, data isn’t just everywhere, it’s shaping how every industry operates, makes decisions, and serves people. The world is going through a massive digital and AI-driven transformation, and the demand for data-literate talent continues to grow.

This year’s theme, “SpaceAware: Enhancing Space Situational Awareness,” explored  the systems, technologies, and data that help monitor, track, and protect our activities in space.

When we set out to analyze our community survey, we expected to see what most industry reports show: differences by career level, age group, or even domain specialization. And while those patterns were there, they were surprisingly flat. The real story emerged when we broke things down by region.

Founded on the belief that data and AI should work for everyone, Women in Data™ began as a grassroots initiative in 2015 and has since grown into a thriving global community of over 70,000 members across 150+ countries.
