Our goal is to help more women enter and flourish in data careers through mentorship.

Women in Data believes that by providing more direct support, advocacy, and professional development within a community, we help more women build rewarding careers in data. Our 6-month mentorship program aims to empower women in data as they navigate career choices, grow their leadership skills, and reach for their full potential.

Is this program right for me?

Mentorship can play an important role in you career journey no matter your level.

For Mentees:

  • If you are interested in growing in your career, seeking a mentor is a great first step. Making a career transition, taking on a new role or simply figuring out what you want to do next can be scary. Mentors can help by listening, sharing their experience, and offering feedback to guide you on your way.

For Mentors:

  • If you are interested in giving back and growing your leadership skills, becoming a mentor may be right for you. In addition to coaching others on their data career journey, you will have the opportunity to grow your network and refine some valuable skills of your own.

Don’t know if you qualify to be a mentor or mentee? Don’t worry! We use a specialized program called cross-mentorship where there is an opportunity to do both!

What is the program timeline?

The mentorship program is six months with curated content and assignments each month to help guide your experience.

What is the time commitment for the program?

  • For best results, we recommend that participants commit to the full six months of the mentoring partnership, meeting 1-2 hours each month. Of course, mentorships can continue after our program ends if you and your mentor choose to do so.

How are mentorship matches made?

  • Mentees are paired with mentors from the WiD community through a multi-point matching process, taking technical background, level of experience and mentorship objectives into consideration.

How do I apply for the program?

  • Our mentorship program is available for members only. Please sign in to the member portal to gain access to the mentorship application. Applications can be found in our catalog.
